Why Do Petroleum Based Oils Start To Break Down After 3,000 kms?
Petroleum-Based motor oils, and most blended or semi Synthetic motor oils begin to carbonize and sludge up at temps as low as 240 deg. F. All petroleum based motor oils contain waxes and paraffins that originate from crude oil, and have molecular structures that cannot accept the extreme heat conditions in today’s combustion engines, therefore causing most motor oil to begin to break down around 3,000 km. Motrlube has no petroleum based oils so it does not break down under these conditions.
